In my locale, we had a muslim guy burn down his own business (or paid some homeless guy to do it) because he was having money problems and was looking to collect some insurance. It was very soon after Sept. 11th, so of course he claimed it was a hate-crime. This moron left 100 clues behind that it was him. And, of course, he was calling insurance agents with weird “what if my business burned down?” questions and his Google searches on the subject were extensive. He had an alibi, I don’t remember what it was, but it was downright idiotic. And of course, we’re all racist for looking into it and seeing it was a lie. Funny, I don’t remember muslim being a race...
