He happened to be president when the Cold War ended and the single greatest technology since the printing press was introduced. The dotcom explosion made him look good. It wasn’t Newt and the GOP, it wasn’t Clinton, and it damn sure wasn’t Algore.
They all glommed on and tried to take credit for it. Then they fled when the tech bubble popped back down to the reality of the industry.

You can add to that the entire Baby Boomer population producing 40-hour work weeks filling those coffers and now getting stabbed in the back with social security benefits.
