What's the big deal? If your doctor, or anyone else asks you if you have guns in your house, lie. Tell them no. In fact, tell them that guns are evil and you'd never tolerate them anywhere near you.

Whether you own guns or not, it's no one else's business. But if you tell them that, they'll assume you do. So lie. And have no qualms about it.

another good reason to have a "gun trust"...not just for NFA items. Doc ask. "Do you own a gun?" Legally correct/ethical answer is: "NO"....(because the TRUST owns the gun.

Semantics, I know, the real answer should be FOAD.....

Sometimes its better to answer a question with a question such as: "Doc, who is your malpractice insurance with? I'd like to see their policy on you asking non-medical questions. Also, what professional credentials do you hold in regards to firearms? NRA trainer? Instructor, etc"? THAT usually gets them to shut up. Remind them that they have an MD on their wall and they should stick to that.

If you doctor shows leftist tendencies, tell him you have hemorrhoids that are burning like an acetylene torch with the O2 on full.

That’s not a medical question, and therefore, none of your business!

Lie and say no.

Doctors are agents of the government now.

I have my official doctor, and my doctor and pharmacy who has my name, but otherwise incorrect information whom I use for anything I don’t want on my records. Pay by pre-paid credit card. (NO, I not doctor shopping. I’m actually honest to this doctor.)

1) “No, I do not own a gun” It ends there, unless they are able (and bother) to cross-check with some other database.

If they already know, why do they bother asking?

A doctor may be required to ask you the question, but he would have to show me the law that required me to answer it.

If he persisted, I'd just say - "I decline to answer that question" and answer the question by not answering it, so both of us would be satisfied.

< So you FReepers pick your answer...

"Own a GUN?! You are kidding me right?! I'm afraid if I had one it would start shooting and killing people randomly around my house!! Besides I'm a Hillary supporter!"

I like “It’s none of your damned business” MUCH better. This unconstitutional tyranny must be shut down & eradicated.

Ask the doctor for his personal telephone number and the times that he eats dinner, or sleeps.

When he responds, “That information is not available to you.”

You retort, “Why not?”

He replies, “It irrelevant to our doctor-patient relationship.”

You follow up with, “So is asking if I own a gun.”

Doctor should ask if you are gay. Have a better chance of dying from AIDS as y do from a gunshot wound.

Say you are just now reviewing your healthcare provider. Because I found the question to be intrusive I am changin providers and will tell the reason why on social media. You won’t see me again and I expect others will change also.
