Atheists bash hotel Bibles: They’d prefer a Darwinian replacement!

by Paul Price

A recent article from The Christian Institute reported that the US-based ‘Freedom From Religion Foundation’ is now asking for ‘Bible-free’ bedrooms to be offered in hotels.1 For all of us who have been following the cultural trends in the West, this development should hardly come as a surprise—the anti-God agenda has been making further and further encroachments into traditionally Christian strongholds, as more and more of the culture has become saturated with secularism.

The atheist group cited the actions of the Travelodge hotel chain, who removed all Bibles from their rooms in 2014, despite the fact that not a single guest had registered a complaint! Of course, hotels are free to include or refuse to allow Bibles in their own rooms, but the widespread practice of placing Bibles in hotel room drawers has been carried on for over a century; clearly, this is just one more indicator that the essentially Christian makeup of Western culture has been seriously eroding.

The Bible is a trustworthy eyewitness record of history, and good science confirms this time and time again. Even more telling, however, is what the atheist group wants to replace the Bible with: Darwin’s On the Origin of Species!

Far too many in the church are willing to compromise.

Why can the atheists just ignore the Bibles in hotel rooms? I don’t want to read the sports page in the complementary newspaper, but I’m not demanding it be banned. I just ignore it and mind my own business.

anti-God agenda = equality = socialism + one world government

“Why can” should be “Why can’t”

Exactly. I'm an atheist, and I don't get my shorts in a wad because there's a Bible in my room. Big deal. So what!

I'm sick and tired of my fellow atheists acting like attention whores. If you want to show that your atheist way of life is better, then live a good life, mind your own business and keep your mouth shut. Nobody needs to know your beliefs, and the overwhelming majority of people don't care anyway.

How sad do you have to be to join an atheist group? Should I join a group where I talk about how I don’t collect stamps?

Atheist: One who is obsessed by the fear that someone, somewhere might be praying.

To liberals, freedom of speech means freedom from ever being exposed to speech that they don't like.

If I stayed in a hotel and found in a drawer a copy of the Koran, the Book of the Morman, Scientology Dianetics, or any other book that I did not want to read, I would not care. I learned how not to read before I learned how to read.

A Darwinian replacement?

Sure, put a frog in every drawer.

You don’t have to be sad to join an atheist group. You just have to be an attention whore.

I'm speaking only of the "activist" variety, of course.

Not a frog. A snake would be more fun. I’d enjoy watching someone jump and scream, even if the snake is not poisonous.

Yeah, they want L.Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics placed there instead. A science fiction novel turned into an ersatz bible.

I sense a Madalyn Murray O’Hair ending for the Gaynor clan in the days to come. It’s not that I want see that happen. It’s just that’s the order of things - evil eventually destroys evil

The hatred these people have for the word of God is irrational. Almost dangerously so

Ok, maybe a three legged frog with fangs.
It could have a stick it note on it.

“Lick Me.”

You KNOW someone would...

You know one of my favorite guys in our church was an atheist until last year. Now he’s one of the happiest and most upbeat persons I know. He wasn’t like that before. He’s a different guy altogether. I knew him away from the church before.

I'm an atheist, and I don't get my shorts in a wad because there's a Bible in my room.

Unfortunately, there are some atheists who are every bit as militant in trying to enforce their beliefs as the most fundamentalist Muslims or Christians.

I do not care what anyone else believes or does not believe as long as they don't try to enforce their beliefs on me or prevent me from living my life according to my beliefs.
