In the end, a cowardly outcome. The R’s whipped the vote and then let only as many vote against as needed to defeat and from the least vulnerable. No principles other than self-preservation at work here.

The Preamble to the US Constitution mentions “secure the blessings of LIberty..” Liberty and Equality are antonyms.
