Gun Ownership: A New Medical Illness?

“It does feel rather invasive when I’m asking the question,” Stein told LifeZette. She said the American Academy of Pediatrics requests that doctors ask the question, which is on intake forms for new patients and regular checkups. She does so in order to comply.

“It has become more prevalent,” she said. “You feel uncomfortable whether you do it or not. It truly feels like you’re getting into the parents’ business.”

Stein says it’s a Catch 22: She wants her patients to be safe, but she doesn’t want to invade their privacy. The information she collects is not shared outside of her practice. If she has to ask about guns, she would rather be able to distribute information on gun safety for kids — instead of just being forced to check off a box.

In real terms, all the people need is gasoline.

Not protected by the US Constitution, however.

Being a cross dresser - normal
Having a need and predilection to screw men in their asses - normal.
Using the opposite sex restroom, shower, dressing room - normal

Owning a gun to defend yourself - sick

My doc shoots her female nurse shoots, her female PA shoots, her male PA doesn’t like guns. I don’t see him. I ccw for most visits, depending on the reason.when not it is secured in my car safe. I have heard the building is a no gun zone but they don’t have signs posted, which I can legally ignore, and my hearing is selective

That would be the day that I would be self identifying as a non gun owner since ‘self identifying’ has become such a fluid concept.

“The information she collects is not shared outside of her practice.”

IF, and it is a very big IF, that statement is true then why is it collected? Once you remove the massive political spin there appears to be little, if any, linkage between having a gun at home and healthcare at any age level.

If they were serious about reducing the potential for childhood injury and death I would recommend that all hammers, baseball bats and knives of all descriptions be removed - they cause more household deaths than guns.

BTW - would doctors apply the same zeal to restricting access to medical care/ What is the rate of death from bad medical procedures and diagnoses when compared to guns? Oh yes, we aren’t allowed to ask that question are we.

“The information she collects is not shared outside of her practice.”
Is she sure about that? I had to change doctors and when I asked about having records sent was told that they could access them as they used to same electronic charting system that my other doctor used, even though the two doctors were not affiliated with the same hospitals or universities.

Lie. Defy. Do not comply.

Always remember they are agents of the government.
