“The time you are waiting so long for has arrived,” the leaflet said. “It’s time to leave Raqqa.”

Russian, Iranian and Kurdish news sources are reporting that the largely Kurdish SDF is moving to assault the ISIS capital of Raqqa in Syria - like today or tomorrow.

The administration's point man for ISIS, Brett McGurk, just went to Kobane to meet with the SDF top leadership on the 18th.

Maybe Hillary's poll numbers need a boost.

If this operation is going off, it is happening before the gap into Turkey is closed - so fleeing jihadis will still have a path to Europe available.

It might just be a feint, but if so, it is an unusually big one.

Remember when we didn’t give the enemy 48 hours to prepare for an attack?

I see they have the dead ISIS guys on the ground.

Which, of course, they’ve been asking for (72 virgins and all that).

B-52 Carpet bombing is coming? Something “else”?

Great. Their Generals leave and the hospitalized
are left.
Real smart.
Like arming al Qaeda.

I find it weird that people in the middle of a civil war are Tweeting.

You can’t win a politically correct war.

It would seem to me that anyone left at this point is probably part of ISIS, or their family.

Giving that kind of notice is kind of like begging them to booby trap us, do a tactical retreat, and plan a counter attack.

Are we teaching these 48 hour warnings at West Point, now?

This leaflet shows the difference in how civilized people wage war versus how barbarians do it. ISIS not only doesn’t warn people they’re about to attack, they deliberately target innocent civilians. But the United States cares enough about civilians trapped in ISIS-controlled areas that we at least give them a chance to get out of the way.

And for those of you thinking that this is a recent phenomenon, the U.S. dropped warning leaflets on some of the Japanese cities a couple of days before we bombed the stuffing out of them during World War II.

There is just one problem: There is no imminent ground or air attack, at least by the U.S.-led coalition. Rather the coalition appears to be the midst of a psychological offensive.

Wait' I thought John McCain and his anus attachment Linda Graham were going to parachute in first to lead the troops...

As long as this action is coordinate with the Syrians and the Russians, I'm OK with it.

There's nothing wrong with Raaqua that 300 B-1b sorties cannot straighten out.

Especially if augmented with Russian air power and SDF ground forces.

This the same Racca that yesterday we were bitching how the Russians wouldn’t cooperate with us wanting to drop food and supplies into?

What’s our strategy? To confuse them to death, bomb them one day, feed them the next?

Didn’t I recall seeing that a squadron of B52 BUFFs had been sent to the Mid East not too long ago.?

Maybe we won’t carpet bomb, just throw-rug bomb the jihadis.

Why on earth do we give the enemy notice of an imminent attack?

When the US military attacks Militias in the US, do you think they will warn us first before attacking?
