Donald Trump paid no federal income taxes for at least two years in the late 1970s, according to a New Jersey government report.
Trump, who has declined to release his tax returns during the campaign season, incurred no tax liability in 1978 and 1979, New Jersey gambling regulators found, when they looked into his tax returns and personal finances in connection with the Trump Plaza Corporation's 1981 application for a casino license.
Trump claimed negative income in both those years: losses of $406,379 in 1978 and $3,443,560 in 1979. In 1975, 1976, and 1977, he claimed $76,210, $24,594, and $118,530 in income, respectively, paying $18,714, $10,832, and $42,386 in federal taxes, according to the document, the Report to the Casino Control Commission.
The regulators "did not ascertain any inconsistent or questionable matters" in Trump's returns, they wrote.
The findings were included in a report obtained by ABC News and verified by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. Although the regulators viewed Trump's tax returns from 1975 to 1979, they did not include the actual returns in their report to the commission.

HEY!! I listened to the Bee Gees!
I also had a small business in the 1970’s and I lost money every single year. The only money I had to live on was what accidently fell into my pocket while I was counting the days receipts.
Gibb me a break.
He fought valiantly and recovered.
There would be no doubt that he paid little or no taxes during this period.
Taxes are paid on income. No income, not taxes.
We won't get one of those hypocrites who tells us he loves to pay his taxes because it's "the patriotic thing to do" with him.....
ah, ah, ah, ah, staying alive, staying alive....
Woo-Hoo, disco is making a comeback.
I'm sorry to hear that. About the only decent disco music was done by the Bee Gees, the rest was junk. The Gibb Brothers were great songwriters and performers. They did some amazing vocal harmonizations. Their talent was evident before they ever switched to disco.
I have always thought that the Bee Gees are more to blame for the disco era than anyone. They were the first mainstream band to go all-in on disco.
Hmmm...Stayin’ Alive, Stayin’ Alive...
Perhaps the BeeGees weren’t lame...just prescient ;)
I have only happy memories of dancing queen, the only time I ever heard it was while my orthodontists crazy hot assistants were hovering over my reclined form checking my braces.
I take it you were in junior high or high school LOL.
Gibb me a break.
I admire him,
You notice the limousine liberal democrats want to give away the store, but they don’t want to pay for it. They use every tax dodge they can. Hypocrites.
Yes. Lived in northern Virginia, his office was up near Springfield IIRC. He was building a house out near where we lived, on visits I’d always ask him how the house I was helping him build was coming along and he’d reply with something on the line of “good, I got a shrub for along the sidewalk with your last visit”.
He looked like he could have been separated at birth from Steve Martin and had a “best fishes” poster signed by him in the office.
It was definitely weird to look forward to visits that about 8-12 hours afterwards had me feeling like I was on the blasphemer bench of an inquisition dungeon!
