BlackElk, I agree with your suggestions. I hope that many people will attend a meeting of the Illinois Center Right Coalition on June 25, including leaders of pro-life, pro-gun, and tea party groups, so they can persuade their groups to cooperate better. The meeting will start at noon, at 39W140 Freeman Rd., Gilberts. We’ll hold a steering committee election, and, to vote in that election, someone must have paid dues at least 30 days before the meeting, May 26.

Each congressional district (not state senate district) has a member of the IL GOP State Central Committee. Their member from the 8th District, Ryan Higgins, supported changing the platform, last week.

I can no longer make meetings. The guy who used to drive me moved to Georgia. My health is declining. I am chronically broke. I wish ICRC well but it must be from a distance. As I said in my post, I only wish that I were younger and healthier. Feel free to present the ideas from my post to the meeting as a basis for discussion.

Finally: Is "Gilberts" a town? A restaurant? If not, you need to post the town and name of restaurant.

Did this Higgins support man/boy/goat marriage or was he a good guy?

One State Central member per CD is very bad news. The bigger the committee, the harder for the slime to control it. When there is one member per CD, it is not difficult for the generally useless Congresscritters to control who gets elected in any GOP CD. One per Senate District is better and less controllable and corruptible. One per State House District is still better. Two per district is still better. We have people. They don't.

With a greatly expanded state central committee, we probably are subject to being embarrassed by a few ideological nutcases but that is quite controllable as the currently constituted state central committee is not.

Are the current state central committee members subject to primaries? That might be another avenue. Take control, change the rules, vastly expand the state central committee and run the social revolutionaries and other letists off the committee altogether.
