FNC is saying it was a mechanical fire! I don’t believe this about a fire.

I dont buy the mechanical fire BS..the plane was about to land, another 20 minutes and the plane would have been at the airport, if there was something on board that would have caught fire it wouldn’t have taken it over 3 hours to catch fire

If it was just a fire the pilots would have had time to radio that there was a problem aboard.

Could be, but the fire/failurfe could have been started by some type of “foreign” device such as a small bomb.
