Great point. I couldn't figure what was so "special" about this JUST happening, either.

You're right. Not like the passenger load has tripled in the past week.

The wait times have, though.

The creation of the DHS ranks near the top of the list of unforgivably asinine policies that Dubya perpetrated. That his answer to the question of airport security after 911 was to create yet another monstrous governmental bureaucracy that terrorizes the average person yet does nothing to deliver additional security and added billions to the national debt was wholly in keeping with his big-government approaches to everything.

In Chicago, the news stations are quoting TSA union officials, saying that the union is intentionally slowing down the processes. They are angry at the city of Chicago for not allowing the TSA to carry guns. If they did, the TSA workers would get higher pay, because they would be classified as a more dangerous job. This is the union’s way to get back at the city.

The city prefers to use CPD officers. Its really just one union fighting against another. So if you are sitting in a line in Chicago, rest assured your safety and security has nothing to do with your wasted time. And you are a sitting duck for any terrorist who wants to hit an airport like Belgium or LAX.

No. I think the TSA goons genuinely enjoy the suffering they cause. Especially in ‘metro’ airports. The least motivated employee EVER is an AA hire that can never be fired and doesn’t have to perform. They enjoy making people suffer. They don’t have to get on the plane. They just have to stand around and ensure more overtime.

If it was a ploy to get the extra bucks for the fast pass then the goons would lose overtime hours.

American international airports are THE WORST in the entire world. The worst employees, the worst security officials, the worst immigration officials, the worst customs officials. You land in Minsk and be out of that airport in 30 minutes. You land in Houston and you’re in that damned cavernous warehouse for 3 hours

From its inception, TSA has set countless records for incompetence, rudeness, and stupidity.

Looks like they’re intent on continuing the trend - and no apologies about it, either.

Airport Lines: Your Government Failing You

Not just a 'failing', but a deliberate and premeditated attempt to intimidate.

"From its inception, TSA has set countless records for incompetence, rudeness, and stupidity."

Good thing that so many democrats insisted that TSA cretins be unionized.

Nothing is so "competent" as a government union.
