“pruned back to its original charter”

Actually, it started as the Pollution Control Agency.

This is a distinctive difference which should be pointed out as the conservative approach to eco issues.

The principal that guides me in eco issues is that I value people over nature. The left is the opposite, they value nature over people.

So while I don’t mind controlling pollution because I believe it is generally degrading to quality of life for people, I do not agree that roads/neighborhoods should not be built because it would “harm” the environment.

Here, even if ethanol were effective, the damage done to the public who depend on their transportation takes precedence in my mind.

But the left don’t care about that. If they can impose something they think can help the environment - people be damned. Just like PETA folks value animals more than people.

More to my point on how the left values nature over people: Below is a link to a 2010 story on an old eco topic in the DPRM - erosion of Calvert Cliffs threatening homes. Even though the homes risk falling over cliffs, they cannot take the steps necessary to shore up the property because it would "harm" the environment. NBC4 Washington
