Sounds like a potential law that would be in violation of an Amendment!

Here in TX, one of the Candidates in the TX GOP Primary Run-offs for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals had “the 4th amendment us not being honored”as part of his platform. He lost.

The evolution of "reasonable expectation of privacy" law, as it relates to the telephone, is quite interesting.

SCOTUS first take was that wiretapping does NOT require a warrant, because there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in a phone conversation. Congress passed a law making wiretapping illegal.

SCOTUS has since changed its point of view, and it will no doubt, absolutely, change it again in the future.

Yeah, not content with trashing the 2nd Amendment in so many ways. (think taxes, permits, background checks, magazine limits, ammo & feature & form/fit/function bans)

They've got a pretty good start on attacking the 1st going. (think you can criticize a muslim, or a sexual deviant of the flavor of the day, or actually run your business according to your beliefs? {snort})

Now they're coming after the 4th. Well, they've been working on that one for a while now, in secret. It is just coming to light how pervasive government surveillance of us is and is becoming.

What constitutes an email? I think we all think we know... But what about a message via social media like facebook or G+? Or a "video" email privately shared on YouTube? Or a text message or tweet - just short emails? Posts on online forums like FR, private messages on same? Most of these share many characteristics - digital data in a store-and-forward scheme with some user control over who can access it. If you're going to let the government access any of it without a warrant, you know the case will be made (and won) that they should be able to access all of it. Well then, gee, voicemail is just digital data in a store-and-forward...

If you look up "slippery slope" in the dictionary I'm pretty sure you'll find a reference to this somewhere in the vicinity. If not, just ask the NSA and Google, they apparently index everything... wait, BRB, gotta go answer a pounding on my door... ;-/

An Admendment? Like the Corker Admendment?

"Sounds like a potential law that would be in violation of an Amendment!"

Therein lies the problem...

The All Powerful Government now considers itself above all laws... When the King or any of his dominions makes a decree, well it's, "so let it be written, so let it be done..!!"

This will most likely continue until some of them are hanged for treason....

MHO..... :(
