Not even the president, much less the nominee, has the authority to replace the Speaker of the House. That is a job for the majority party in the House.

Of course, the issue is moot if Ryan loses his congressional seat. Any word on how that's been polling?

What I was talking about was at the Convention, I believe Trump has the power to pick who he wants as speaker there...
