Sometimes the det. cord is in the rails that attach the canopy to it’s frame/s. That one of the first things we worry about when safe ting a ejection seat after a “hard” landing, The pins installed interrupt the ejection process/s at varying points of the ejection system/s.
Not completely, put there is perm. damage to the person after wards. It is one of the worst things to be done to a human body in order to keep them alive, in the event of the aircraft becoming unflyable.
The Harrier is the only jet with det cord in the canopy.
