The real question is why would Trump hire Wiley who did a terrible
job for Scott Walker.

Looks like he was hired (at Manafort's recommendation) to fill state director roles in battleground states but was making it clear that state directors would report to him.

In other words, he was building his own little power base.

He also p!ssed Trump when he negotiate a fundraising agreement with the RNC but left Nevada out of the agreement.

No idea what the implications of that were, but I would bet Wiley was pulling another little power play.
