I still hope that Trump will get the needed number of delegates on first vote and officially becomes the nominee and the delegates will support him, instead of trying to stop him.

BALONY! Those delegates are bound to vote as the voters told them to vote-for Trump!

This is because each and every delegate has complete freedom to vote their conscience at the convention Bullsh*t. On speed dial. Call it.

CNBC trying to sew the seed of doubt in the minds of the delegates regarding their responsibilities.

To: Innovative
Well it may be right that the delegates are free to vote for their own choice at the convention but so it is the right of the voters to vote their own choice at the general election. If at this point the Republican Party does not pick Trump after he has won the required delegates then it is the end of the Republican Party.

“...at present he has only won roughly 43 percent of all primary and caucus votes cast, and would need to net more than 3.5 million voters in the June 6 primaries to win even a bare majority of all votes cast.’
Multi-candidate field.
That was about the percentage Bill Clinton won the presidency with.
In the primaries, voters also voted their consciences, by the millions.

The train has left the station. He may have 1500 delegates on the first ballot. They ought to be talking about nominating him via acclamation instead of still skulking about looking for ways to sabotage him.

The author is wrong. Those pledged delegates which Trump won must vote for him on the first ballot at the convention. He’ll have almost 1,500 of them.

And even if delegates were obligated to obey the "will of the people" as expressed through primaries and caucuses, Trump's claim on the nomination would still be dubious at this point at present he has only won roughly 43 percent of all primary and caucus votes cast, and would need to net more than 3.5 million voters in the June 6 primaries to win even a bare majority of all votes cast. This is the sort of thing that makes me despise these GOPe automatons. First they mock the voters with the "will of the people" in quotes as if it's some quaint yet outdated concept. Then they try to make the case that the guy with the most primary votes ever and with the most delegates committed is not really legitimate because.... well because she doesn't like him and she thinks she's superior.
God I hope Trump takes a sledgehammer to the GOP party apparatus.

NOTHING is written in stone until the final gavel falls at the convention.
(and maybe not even then) Trust the GOP at your own risk.

They ought to be talking about nominating him (Trump) via accliminationI disagree. I want the backstabbing traitors to either stand up and be counted or step back from their attempts to steal the nomination, thus getting hillary elected.
