-- White House hopeful Donald Trump on Thursday finally crossed his party's finish line and secured the necessary delegate count to clinch the Republican presidential nomination, thanks to the state of North Dakota.
Trump obtained delegate No. 1,237 in the Midwest state, meaning he will be the GOP's definitive candidate in the November general election to run against whomever the Democratic Party nominates -- almost certainly Hillary Clinton.
Trump thanked North Dakota supporters for pushing him over the top while opening a speech that outlined his vision for the future of the U.S. energy industry.
The real estate magnate opened his speech Thursday by thanking the state for providing enough delegates to push him over the nomination threshold -- and then set his sights on a plan for "complete energy independence" for the United States under a Trump administration.
Trump said if he's elected, he will take steps to entirely remove the nation's dependence on foreign fuel -- something he said the current administration has failed to do.

That's 22 at large delegates, 18 of which Cruz claimed were loyal to him after he had attempted to stack the delegate slate just prior to the ND convention.
Ben Carson and Barry Bennett had vigorously campaigned for Trump in ND and had left there feeling confident of the outcome in ND.
Curly Haugland, ND national committeeman and rules interpreter did not join Trump on the stage. Neither did the state committee woman, Sandy Boehler.
You have to wonder if some of the delegates were stealth Trump supporters. They may have went along with Cruz's strong arming technique in order to make sure that they could become ND delegates. They obviously had understood how it all works with Cruz after watching the Colorado delegate selection process.

I remember 11 months ago, when Trump came down and announced that he was a candidate for POTUS...I turned to my daughter and said: “That’s who I’m supporting!” Not once have I looked back...yes it’s been hard, being knocked around, working on his campaign in Utah, but I never gave up hope or faith...I just kept plugging along, trying to convince people that what I knew in my heart was the right way to go with this Man...today, you have no idea how happy and at peace I am...

Trump is outlining policy initiatives for energy and international affairs. Hillary is too busy fighting the FBI investigation on one flank while facing guerilla warfare from Bernie’s Brigades on the other. Trump is about to launch his own attacks while the DNC is quietly planning to parachute Uncle Joe and Fakeahontas behind the lines. Hillary knows she’s fighting her own “Last Stand” surrounded by enemies all around her.

I can relate. A close friend who I have worked with on political issues went all the way to FL. to help with Cruz campaign...then I saw her on the TV screen when he was on with Hannity....

Trump would have signed.....

That speech was real good. Very factual, very passionate, very forceful at tying the economic revival of the US with using our energy resources.
