Taking out Saddam was the right thing to do. He was committing genocide against the Kurds and marsh Arabs -who are gone now.
As for democratizing Iraq -no one could have foreseen the Democrats taking Congress in 2007 and cutting funding for Iraq and Afghanistan. No one suspected they were that callous or treacherous. Most still don’t see it.

And just why is our business? We should not be the world’s policeman. Yeah, it’s awful what goes on in the ME and Africa, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for us to pi$$ away the precious lives of our young men and women, as well as a hunge chunk of money we had to borrow! You want to go some mercenary army and go over there, be my guest, but don’t you dare send my Grandkids and pay for it all with my money! we have not been involved in a war worth fighting since WWII, and we have left those places where we “fought” worse off for our having been there.
Unforseen? It was the exact same thing that the RATs did to South Vietnam.
