From a gambling perspective, it makes perfect sense: a 100% guaranteed 50 state sweep with no downside risk to the respective candidates.
Now, Trump may very well win in a dominant fashion anyway, but who can resist toying with or walking away from those kinds of odds? Bernie would be even more inclined & amenable to the suggestion, since he has 0% chance from the DNC.
The only risk to Trump supporters is if he doesn't make it 4-8 years. Likewise, the only risk to Bernie supporters is Trump does make it 4-8 years.
Now, compare those respective risks with what could actually be accomplished: nothing less than a bloodless revolution. Thousands upon thousands of "nobles" heading to the justice, with a complete restoration of the basic principles of law, etc, etc, etc.
Fun speculation, and maybe some "wishful thinking" on the part of some who entertain the thought.
I see zero chance of Trump offering the VP slot to Sanders, just because Trump wants to build an efficient and effective executive teeam for capitalism and against Washington, and Bernie would be a slug in that operation, at best.
“The only risk to Trump supporters is if he doesn’t make it 4-8 years. Likewise, the only risk to Bernie supporters is Trump does make it 4-8 years.”
Seriously, uh, NO! Even a 1% chance that this Lenin clone would become President is too much. But warming up to him a bit, appearing to vet him for Veep - that will pay dividends.
I noticed the Trump-Bernie meme over there, too, and kinda dismissed it.
You’ve made me re-think with your insightful post.
Whether it could work or not, I’d be willing to see it just to watch all the heads explode over at National Review and the DNC, RNC, ABC . . .
Ummm, that's 57 states according to Barry Soetoro.
