At 1500 hours Washington time, they know something bad is happening in Benghazi.

At 1600 hours Wahington time, they know the Ambassador is missing.

At 1630 hours Washington time, they know there’s one dead American. Casualties are reported.

At 1700 hours Washington time, Obama meets with SECDEF.

Then.....nothing.

What did Obama do after 1700 hours? He gets an update, that’s maybe 15 minutes. Does he give any orders? Does he have any requests?

An Ambassador was missing and then dead. Who in the world would do nothing? Then Obama goes to Las Vegas to raise money. Who does that?

Obama surrendered and agreed to pay blackmail to our enemies.

It must not be forgotten that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama left, not four, but some forty Americans to die in Benghazi. It was only through the heroism of Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, acting in contradiction of direct orders to stand down and at the cost of their own lives, that most of those forty returned home alive.

Again, let it be reiterated that Obama and Clinton were comfortable condemning forty Americans to ugly death at the hands of radical Muslims and to lie about it afterwards rather than admit to what was going on in Benghazi or to their own failures.

Two things went wrong with the operation:

1. There was resistance. Recall that Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were ordered to stay at the annex. They disobeyed their orders when they went to help defend the annex.

2. Stevens died...from smoke inhalation, not direct action.

Thus, the cover story involving the "Innocence of Muslims" video. While the actual gunrunning was readily defensible by referring to the Reagan administration's Iran-Contra operation, the botched kidnapping plan was the impetus for quickly fabricating a cover story.

Stevens' death wasn't in the plans, of course. But it was an accidental event. He died of smoke inhalation...suffered in the "safe room".

And, as I recall, Sean Smith was concerned that the attackers knew the location of the "safe room" -- which is why he tried to lead the Ambassador out of it, but lost contact in the smoke.
