Amid speculation he is on the short list, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions told The Daily Caller on Friday that he “would consider” an offer to be Donald Trump’s running mate, “like any other citizen should,” if offered.
It’s the farthest Sessions has gone in publicly acknowledging interest in serving in a potential Trump administration.
During an half-hour interview in his Capitol Hill office about a wide-range of topics — including immigration, trade, national security and the 2016 campaign— The DC asked Sessions if he is open to being Trump’s running mate.
“If I could help him in some way — and he were to ask me — I would consider it like any other citizen should,” said Sessions, who was the first senator to endorse Trump’s presidential campaign and serves as an adviser to the presumptive Republican nominee.

I’m not too happy about losing my Senator to just the VP slot but if it leads to the Presidency in 4 or 8 years then it will be worth it. Now we will have to find a replacement, and he won’t be easy to replace. Shelby, our other Senator is an old Democrat who switched to get elected and who we never hear from again until the next election. We got screwed when we elected Martha Roby to Congress. She talked the talk but when she got to DC she was useless. Now she is relies on the uninformed and party line voters to keep her in office. So with her in mind I hope we won’t wind up with another sellout if we do have to replace Senator Sessions.

Yes he would help in CAlifornia, the biggest win we could get in November. But that is not the reason I think he would be the best candidate for VP. I believe Hunter Jr. Is very principled, loves his country, was willing to die for it fighting Muslims in the sand box. He’s a businessman, still in the Marine reserves and on several Congressional committees. His old man drug him up right.
