She’s counting on the people going to the polls to vote for her based on happy memories of the relative prosperity of her husband’s two terms in office. Their emotions will be riding on that. They’ll be ignoring anything on her record.

For one thing, there are a lot of stupid people around... by definition, half the population is below average IQ.

Some intelligent people will still vote for her, because they're part of a class of people who exist by taking from others... government "workers", people on welfare, etc. She's the only candidate even suggesting that they can continue on without contributing to society themselves.

Some people cringe when Trump says he'll bring jobs back to America. This implies that they might find themselves without a valid excuse for being on the dole... and to some, that's a frightening prospect.
