A string of nearly two dozen shootings on the West Side has pushed the number of people shot during the Memorial Day weekend to at least 40, with two more days to go.
As of early Sunday morning, the toll stood at four dead and 36 wounded across the city, including a 15-year-girl shot to death as she rode in a Jeep on Lake Shore Drive near Fullerton Avenue, police said. Last year, 12 people were killed and 44 people were wounded over the holiday weekend.

The violence is not a local policy issue. It is not a policing issue. It is a cultural issue. Federal and state government have created generations of fatherless feral people who kill as casually as some people smoke a cigarette. The solution would be to reverse the dreadful rules and regulations that create this gimme culture. No more payments for people making their living off having fatherless children. That would be a great start. But changing a way of life will be painful and probably politically impossible.
Chicago has become a war zone. Long past due for the governor to call out the National Guard, impose a curfew, and authorize shoot-to-kill for looters, rioters, gangbangers. Oh, and arresting Dead Fish & his henchmen would be appropriate, as well.

Milwaukee has identical problems. In Milwaukee they blame Republican Governor Scott Walker. There is always some useless, expensive program that Walker helped cut that they use as an excuse to blame him.

I keep seeing articles like this every week from the Chicago Tribune, are they nothing more than a bunch of drugged out hippies experiencing frequent flashbacks from too much LSD during their youth??

Black Lives Don’t Matter In Chicago
I would argue that black urban subculture lives don’t matter in Chicago.
That place was a hell hole decades ago. I can’t imagine how bad it is now.
Pretty simple, really, just implement "stop and frisk" like under Giuliani in NYC.
Turned a hell-hole in the 80s to a livable city.
Take illegal guns away from people who shouldn't have them.
Kind of like what the NRA supports.

If “gun violence” is truly the problem, then why don’t white rural areas have similar shootings? The rate of gun ownership is many of these areas is astronomical, yet there are no shootings.
