Not fake polling, despite perceptions, pollsters do try and get it right. Though some will shape the interpretation of the results toward thier preferred outcome. Nobody pays for inaccurate data, as no matter your bias, if your data is bad, the decisions you make will be bad as well. However, in a world of cell phones, getting a truly representative sample is getting more and more difficult.

British polling, specifically, has been notoriously difficult. Polls were very inaccurate for both the Scottish independence referendum and the last general election.

I suspect that they are similarly skewed and the British people will vote to leave the EU by a clear, if not overwhelming majority.

I concur. I think the result is far too close to call. A lot depends on what happens over the next three weeks, what the weather will be like, who can motivate the best, how much money is pushed into the remain campaign, and so on.
