It was the fourth Earl Of Cassillis, who was described as “ane werry greedy man” and was the one who was remembered for literally roasting the Abbot of Crossraguel at Dunmure Castle in 1570 to get title to the abbeys lands.
The man was rescued by another branch of the Kennedys of Bargany, who were engaged in a fued with the senior branch.
This in 1570. BTW, very few of the Kennedy leaders died of natural deaths back then.
Wahtever one can say about the Scots, they were unruly and would resort to some of the most horrendous methods of extracting whatever they wanted out of their targets. There was not one Clan who could be claimed as a peaceful bunch as far as I know.

Thanks for the history. Scots are apparently not to be trifled with...so long as they haven’t been completely pussified, as so much of the rest of Western Civilization has been by the Left.
