Raqqa INVASION: Russia, Syrian army and US march on ISIS capital for explosive finale
ISIS militants could be flushed out of their de facto capital in an explosive battle with the terror nuts.
By Peter Walker / Published 3rd June 2016
The Syrian army and US-backed militias are reportedly marching on Raqqa in what could be a defining landmark moment.
Russian air strikes today blasted Daesh-held territory around seven miles from the extremists' stronghold.
A military source said: "The field leadership does not give information about the main direction or the secondary direction, but the direction is open to two possibilities Deir al-Zor and Raqqa."
Pro-Damascus Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reported today that Russia-backed Syrian soldiers will first hit Tabqa which is where ISIS keep an arsenal of weapons.
US-backed Kurds, who took control of land around Mosul in northern Iraq this Spring, are also marching on Raqqa.

The Russians will probably do more of the killing of the enemy like in WW2.

Notice it's the Kurds that the Syrian Army can work with, not the (non existent) "Moderate Syrians".
The Kurds and Syrian loyalists WILL crush the ISIS terrorists that plague Syria and Iraq.

I hope the Kurds end up taking a lot of land for their state.

the only reason the Russians lost so many more in WWII than America was because Stalin purged the army and ignored warnings of impending Operation Barbarossa. The Soviets also got lend lease too.
To: ErikJohnsky
I wrote that the Russians killed most of the Nazis in WW2. 80% of the Germans died on the Russian front.
I don't know what you were on about though in relation to my statement.

Good hunting. Libya will be up next. Then Europe. Hopefully the Houses of Saud, Qatar and Turkey do not send their ISIS thugs into Yemen.

I suggest you read in detail what the Germans resorted to at Stalingrad before making that reference.

Disregard. I found the picture of "dead Germans". My question had to do with the looted bodies, and was wondering if the Russians would have been so insensitive to loot their comrades. (But I guess they would).

EXACTLY - you fight wars with hardware and blood, which ratio you have depends on how prepared you are. Obviously Stalin (and China in Korea) was forced to fight with blood. Bush Jr., on the other hand, had some serious hardware in Gulf War 1, and fought with hardware.
