Ted Cruz For Senate
The Federalist ^ | June 3rd, 2016 | By Sean Saffron

Posted on 06/04/2016 11:07:51 AM PDT by Mariner

Lost in all the back and forth of the Republican presidential primary is a profound question for the conservative movement: “Whither Ted Cruz?” Let us not overlook a conservative powerhouse, with a proven track record of organizing actual voters across a wide swath of states, expertise at small-dollar fundraising, and the discipline to endure months of heckling by Donald Troll and his oafish minions.

Is no one else excited to see the next chapter for Cruz? If he so chooses, Cruz can be the conservative leader he was so often attacked for not being over the last few years. Now that he is no longer required to hedge his every position, craft every utterance for maximum flexibility, and throw inconvenient political groups under the bus, Cruz can focus on actually legislating and moving the American political center rightward.

As I argued last year (in an unheeded essay urging he stay put in the Senate):

What? Some exalted Senior Freepatorus Maximus, I'm not allowed to criticize?

With respect for your elders and honorable contributors. Scripter's done more than use FR as a means to ventilate. And for years.

‘Well that is what it means.’

Like they say, you learn something every day. Now I know. :)

Yeah, and looking at some of the stuff I have seen in recent days with protesters turning into violent mobs, it seems like we are headed in that direction.

It seems to me that once there are more of them than there are of us, that’s what they are going to do, so it does not behoove us to procrastinate.

If you are correct—that Cruz’s mother was a Canadian citizen—then Cruz is an ILLEGAL ALIEN.

Did Cruz repeat the lie that so many others did—that Trump’s Muslim Pause was “unconstitutional”?

what we need is a CIC like Obama, he backed away from the ME and it turned into complete chaos.

What we need is a CIC that also moves away from NATO and Asia so we can make chaos world wide.

Utopia here we come

It helps if you say “To God be the glory!” a lot.

Thank goodness. I was a Cruz supporter until I began learning about him. I am hoping that enough Texans were paying attention during his campaign to reconsider his presence in the legislature.

Yes, because the two situations are identical , right?

Utopia here we come

Nobody's looking for a utopia. How about just a functional minimal government that's not run by a corrupt, entrenched Uniparty? How's that for starters.

Remind me again, who will you be voting for in November? Hint: Ted Cruz is not an option.

Vote Trump!

If you are correct—that Cruz’s mother was a Canadian citizen—

***************

That’s the big question. Someone needs to explain how that is true as they moved to
Canada in 1969 or so. Ted was born in Dec. 1970 so that wasn’t enough time for
her to become a Canadian citizen as it took living there five out of eight years.
It was 1973 or so when Rafael became a Canadian citizen. Info is hard to find.

And, Cruz has ready dismissed his Canadian citizenship ..

The issue you fail to grasp is that he only did so AFTER the fact was brought to light after he was elected. The voters had a right to know he carried Canadian citizenship before they voted!

I hope he does do his job in the senate and support the interests of the Unied States no more votes like Coker or TPA. And stops trying to interfere in the current presidential election.

pretty simple, I’ll be voting for Trump but glad Cruz is my Senator and tries to keep Trump from going too far to the left.

< “Did Cruz repeat the lie that so many others did—that Trump’s Muslim Pause was “unconstitutional”? >>

I think Cruz did *not* say that. Only because he was still hoping to bring in TRUMP voters, at the time, who were themselves all-in for a temporary ban on Muslim refugees packing in here, risking they were infiltrated with ISIS fighters.

At the time, I remember Cruz instead countering the ban by naming another version of it— that Muslims from a few Muslim inhabited countries could not come to our shores.

Cruz was criticized for failing to address the fact that ISIS sympathizers and ISIS fighters only had to get to countries he had left off his ban list and they could travel here from those countries.

After that critique surfaced, Cruz ignored the issue— at least I never heard him bring up his version of a ban, ever again.

Same with The Wall. Cruz wreathed and squirmed against that, also, mocking it at first but then peeping out other ideas to avoid an actual “wall”. Finally, in one debate, he dove in and supported the wall, and his punch line followed, saying he “ would get ‘Donald’ to pay for it”.

“She was born in DELAWARE !”

Delaware. Connecticut, Massoftwoshitts, New Jersey, Maryland, all just the same bucket of crap! Isn’t it amazing how the states from which this country was originally formed are now run by people who are the antithisis of those who lived there at our founding!

And yet oddly enough Ted isn’t running for anything right now

His position on TPP and TTP are critical

“I think we Texans are capable of finding a real conservative (and an American) to replace Lyin’ Ted in 2018, thank you very much. “

Bless you Windflier! I know a lot of really good folks in Texas. Too bad after all the evidence has been presented that Cruz is a complete fraud, there are still a few Texans who are still in the tank for him!

“I never contribute to politicians, but I think I will cut a check for a credible GOP primary opponent in the Cruz Senate primary.”

Better still, send your check today to Paul Neihlen, the guy who’s primarying Paul Ryan. sCruze can wait his turn.
