Ted Cruz For Senate
The Federalist ^ | June 3rd, 2016 | By Sean Saffron

Posted on 06/04/2016 11:07:51 AM PDT by Mariner

Lost in all the back and forth of the Republican presidential primary is a profound question for the conservative movement: “Whither Ted Cruz?” Let us not overlook a conservative powerhouse, with a proven track record of organizing actual voters across a wide swath of states, expertise at small-dollar fundraising, and the discipline to endure months of heckling by Donald Troll and his oafish minions.

Is no one else excited to see the next chapter for Cruz? If he so chooses, Cruz can be the conservative leader he was so often attacked for not being over the last few years. Now that he is no longer required to hedge his every position, craft every utterance for maximum flexibility, and throw inconvenient political groups under the bus, Cruz can focus on actually legislating and moving the American political center rightward.

As I argued last year (in an unheeded essay urging he stay put in the Senate):

Travel to Britain doesn’t change the residency requirement of Canada. Besides which she was provably in New Orleans in 1969 and Cruz was born in 1970. Just not enough time.

And Cruz is IT for Republicans in Texas? Seriously? They can’t do better, no one else to chose from?

At the time of his birth, Cruz's parents had lived in Calgary for three years and were working in the oil business as owners of a seismic-data processing firm for oil drilling.

Texas can do what Texas wants. But I wouldn’t be running a newbie in a time when the Senate is critical. And I think Cruz is a better conservative than some are saying. His social conservative positions are right on the money.

1. A challenger has to win.

2. Is there a more conservative challenger? It’s June for Pete’s sake.

I am not a lunk head thank you but you are seemingly incapable of conversation without rudeness or name calling. It is not illegal to have dual citizenship but the office of POTUS requires one be a NBC. Because we can’t trace his parentage due to sealed records we have no idea what he is.

Seems some here who claim to be so Constitution loving are willing to scrap it when convenient.

Have a pleasant day and bless your little heart.

Mr. Haney showed his true colors during the primaries, he’s a liar and a snake in the grass. I’d prefer it if he’d just go away.

“Trump will need a man like Cruz in the Senate...”

Cruz’s votes on the Coker Bill, TPA, and TPP identify him as having a Globalist agenda that he apparently shares with his wife Heidi.

Trump is opposed to the Globalist agenda. “America First.”

Why would he need Cruz in the Senate?

Wouldn’t retiring Gov. Abbott be a better candidate for the Texas US Senate seat?

It’s up to Texas, but I think most American are sick of Cruz’s antics.

GET OVER IT.

Your guy lost. You get over it.

Besides, the boss has asked for the #NeverTrump, Cruzaholic bullcrap to cease, on more than one occasion.

Might be a good idea to do that, or stop posting, if you can't hold back from calling Trump supporters names.

Canada was part of the United Kingdom back then wasn’t it? Perhaps her UK citizenship from her time in England carried over when she moved to Canada.

But that’s just a WAG.

"If the majority on FR doesn't like Cruz so much they don't even want him in the Senate....."

"Lets not cannibalize the bench."

Freepers used to talk about how Obama & the Clintons threw people under the bus. Now I see a LOT of Freepers throwing our own under the bus. Cruz, Limbaugh, Levin, Beck, Coulter etc;

:-(

“It’s June for Pete’s sake.”

So? His term isn’t up for another two years! Unless I’ve missed something, he was elected in November 2012 for a six year Senate term which he began serving in January 2013, and which ends January 2019.

His mother’s citizenship is irrelevant to natural born citizen status.
Cruz in ineligible because of the foreign birth and the foreign national father.
He has two strikes.
It only takes one.
If his mother was not a citizen, then Cruz is not even a citizen.
If she was, somebody needed to file with the US government for them to recognize Ted as a citizen. We have not seen any of those records.

He never was and can never be a natural born citizen.

“THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE IS PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPORTING TRUMP.”

So say you! But I beg to differ. Irrespective of my feelings for Cruze, the matter of his being a “natural born” citizen has not been completely ajudicated. Nor is it clear, from what is actually known ( since Cruze, like Obola, chose to hide as much of his past as he could) about the chain of events regarding his parents, and his citizenship path. It would be the height of stupidity, to blindly elect him, only to get some subsequent SCOTUS ruling that he is not a “natural born” citizen. Remember, he’s a Republican (or he claims he is), so the enforcement of the Constitution is going to be far more stringent than was the case for Obola, who also most likely is not a “natural born” citizen either.
