I agree with Newt.

It is right to go after the judge if he is making clearly adversarial rulings, and it is right to mention that he is La Raza. I haven’t heard Trump mention La Raza. We know about it, I haven’t heard him mention it. That is the point he needs to keep pounding. Or the judge’s connections to the Hillary campaign. Do that and he’ll have a winner, he is on solid ground.

Trump needs people around him who aren’t afraid to disagree. I’m sure he has that in business. He needs that in politics too. I think Newt just showed that he is that guy. I’d like to see him as Trump’s chief of staff. I think he’s too old for VP, but he would be good for Donald.

He may have alluded to it by talking about the judge’s “cultural activities” in the Jake Tapper interview but I doubt there is enough substantiated information to get a reassignment. Also, I believe any petition for a new judge has to be made before a ruling that the defendant deems unfair. Trump is new to politics and is still learning where the boundaries are so this isn’t the end of the road. But he does need to address pro immigration forces with facts and stop the mindset of codewords like “Mexicans” and “wall” to bail him out.
