I answer my own question: Was David Johnson a Cruz supporter?

From the Wilwaukie Journal Sentinal:

David Johnson of nearby Ankeny came out for Cruz because Cruz has stuck by his guns. He plans to support him in Monday’s caucus.

“He stood up for limited-government conservative principles from day one of him getting in the door,” Johnson said.

I think I have got the picture here.

Not the same David Johnson. The senator in question is about 150 miles from Ankeny, Iowa, which is a booming Des Moines suburb.

By the way, this Senator Johnson supported Rick Perry and then Carly Fiorina.
