Now on TV. "Fair Wage Warriors" have stormed a Cook County Walmart, blocking all checkout lines while demanding a "fair wage." No police present; Cook County Board members backing the protestors.
Good. Let WalMart close that shop down, depriving not only the workers of a steady income, but residents in the ‘hood of the ability to buy merchandise at a very low price. Makes so much sense.
Who wants to bet the line wrapped around the block for jobs when the place opened?
Who wants to bet how many jobs in that ‘hood will be left should WM close?
fire them all, replace them with robots!
Look pretty divers to me. Prolly won’t be a riot.
Just horrible how this minimum wage issue is winning. I was told once some time ago that the left/NWO types want this so the masses lose jobs and they would all have to be on the gov/taxpayer teat. I believe that now.
Nothing else makes sense.....jobs are always lost when the wage is increased.
I'm sure they're being paid to be there...protesting IS their job.
Wall mart has more stores than most companies have employees. They should close this store indefinitely.
When the hell are people and companies going to start filing lawsuits against these communist “non profits” that keep organizing these unlawful events?
Yep, they look more like the “sit down, block the doors and cross your arms” types. They should be warned first, then Maced as needed and frog-marched out to police cruisers.
Cook County did not want Walmart in the first place.
I’m sure the county execs would be happy to see it close.
Close the store and don’t re-open it
So, they are like blocking one, maybe two check out lines?
They are at their jobs. They are paid professional agitators. When did “activist” became a legitimate occupation?
Protesting IS their job. They get paid to do this by the unions.
Likely all of them are Amish and belong to the race of professional victims.
Got one word for these demanding protesters. Robots. Oh yes— So sad to see our North America go Turd World like a dreck nation from below the equator line.
All 36 of them? Or just the four which were open?
Less than the wage they are demanding Walmart pay, you can be sure of that.
The article says that what they want is a living wage for employees, or the difference be paid to the county for the services the workers can't afford on their paycheck. For workers getting benefits from WalMart, what they're demanding is less that $12 an hour.
It would be so much better if the economy could get back in sync. The way things are going now, we'll be an irreversible third world country since many people who work still need government benefits to survive. It's not sustainable, and it doesn't provide an incentive to work.
The protestors aren't making any sense, if they really want to solve the problem. The reason wages are so low is that cheap invader labor, with the invaders getting A LOT of gov't handouts, are undermining wages. if these protestors were sincere, what they'd be protesting against is non-citizens being in the US for cheap labor and jobs being shipped overseas where workers get slave labor wages and working conditions. If they really wanted to solve the problem, they'd be Trump supporters!
Chicago has certainly degenerated into a real cesspool of a city. It was once America’s Second City and a major economic and cultural center
what a shame!
Odd positions. The main reason the protesters are even out there is they are bringing up the issue that WalMart pays so low that the taxpayers end up subsidizing the WalMart workers anyway, foodstamps, etc.
