I was an Engineman on diesel submarines for twenty years. I am not an Engineperson although I like engines and machinery. I guess that makes me an Engine Person, however.
I sure wouldn’t expect women Enginemen to change to Enginettes.
What about Fireman or Seaman or Airman?
