They're more scared of guns than death apparently.

Unfortunately here in Florida it's illegal to carry in an establishment that makes most of its revenue from selling alcohol for consumption on premises (IOW bars). Restaurants are ok as long as you stay out of the bar area.
However car keys are perfectly fine. Get drunk and drive yourself home. Go figure.
