Dollars to donuts, people in Ryan’s district have benefited from crony capitalism and/or some form of government largess since the late 1850’s.
Trump is where the Republican party is. By moving away from Trump, Ryan and the others move away from the party they purport to represent. I suppose this fact is lost on them.
Critics like Ryan always tell you what they don’t like, but never what they do.

It is more clear than ever to me that obama is a muslim plant who was rushed through the ranks by the Saudis and the congresspeople who took millions of dollars from them.
Osama bin laden wanted to overtake the USA by force. These guys did it by walking in the front door.
These politicians think they can import a large number of terrorists, have them destroy the politician’s opposition (that would be “us”), and then meekly become loyal subjects.
