Because...Alinsky. They count on us abiding by our own rules. Trump has obviously read Alinsky and is willing to take the fight to the enemy. The moral high ground is the place where conservatism went to die two decades ago. Trump’s not perfect, but he’s willing to fight to get us survivors off that damned hill and back on the offense, fighting the fight that we find ourselves in and not the fight we wish we had.
