It's not the fuel that explodes. It is the vapor that does. But, that doesn't answer my question. You don't shoot a 747 out of the air on purpose and not have a reason, good or perceived. I haven't heard anyone explain why the navy would shoot it down.
The idea put forth by Cashill and others was that the shoot down was a mistake, which was subsequently covered up by the Clintons in the interest of his re-election.
Don’t give me vapor crap. It was not a spark INSIDE the tank that caused the explosion. I have Jet A in several fuel tanks (have had for MANY years) lots of wires in fuel tanks. I fly with 100% confidence that there will NEVER be an explosion inside any Jet A fueled tank.
Look to the Clintooooon Administration - selling guided missile technology to the Chinese, opening up refugee routes in the Middle East.
Why did Sandy Burger steal documents from the National Archives and destroy them?
I believe Clinton wanted someone on that plane dead.
The reason for the shoot-down, which is covered up by Clinton et al, is that this was an Iraqi shoot-down in retaliation by that done by Vincennes.

There was an explanation offered many years ago. According to this allegation, the US Navy was conducting a live fire exercise off Long Island against a target drone. The drone passed close to the 747 and the Navy radar lost track on the drone and began to track the 747 which resulted in the missile hitting the 747.
It is difficult to imagine a more absurd speculation.
