What I hold as a principle is that it would be unjust not to allow all adults to vote except those who have been convicted of a felony and those who are dependent on government largess. What I think is that, as a group, women and blacks have policy preferences very much different than mine, preferences, which when enacted as law, lead to tyranny, immiseration and social breakdown.
I believe that Switzerland was a sounder polity before women there got the vote, as unfair as that may be.

I would bet that the majority of takers do not own anything and vote only for those who will give them stuff.
And presumably you thought the same of the US—before blacks were fully guaranteed the right to vote as well.
But apparently you at least understand how noxious it would be for you to similarly, parenthetically, suggest: “If only we could repeal blacks’ right to vote.”
