WATCH: Ted Cruz Blasts Democrat ‘Political Gamesmanship’ in Wake of Orlando Terror Attack

Posted on 06/17/2016 5:19:20 AM PDT by rktman

On Thursday Senator Ted Cruz took to the Senate floor to address the Islamic terrorist attack in Orlando. The speech he gave should be the standard Republican response to the left’s deflection towards gun-control instead of addressing the real issue at hand: defeating radical Islamic terrorism.

Doesn’t every rational person?

‘I have no issue with him not supporting Trump’

That’s where we differ. We don’t defeat Mrs. Clinton with nobody. We defeat her with Trump or not at all. If Cruz can’t even bring himself to utter Trump’s name, he’s not helping the cause—or is doing only the baresr minimum to ineffectually help it.

LOL! Weird how that works. But I got a tough hide. So, are we to suppose that the cruz haters will disagree with anything cruz does even if it’s defending the 2nd amendment? Almost like being attacked by libs or something. :) Besides, I don’t make the news(yet), I just forward it.

There are some that are irrational haters of Cruz, but they are few.

"He’s still a Bush disciple despite what you purist conservatives think of him."

Actually, Cruz is still a Conservative, despite what you Populists think of him.

Actually, I think you'll see that Trump is agreeing with Cruz. Senator Cruz has been saying this long before Trump started.

Wrong. This was Cruz's position last December:

Ted Cruz: ‘I do not agree’ with Trump’s Muslim moratorium

This is what he just said on the senate floor:

The legislation I have introduced, which I would urge this body to take up, would impose a 3-year moratorium on refugees coming from any nation where ISIS or Al Qaeda or radical Islamic terrorists control a substantial portion of the territory.

Cruz is playing catch-up (once again) with Trump. That was Cruz's biggest problem in the primaries. Trump would take a hard line stance. Cruz would criticize Trump as being too extreme. Then, when everyone realized Trump was gaining support for his hard line stance, Cruz would change his position and become "Mr. Me Too."

From illegal immigration, to the wall, to the Muslim ban, to trade, Cruz became "Mr. Me Too" in relation to Trump.

Anything other than an enthusiastic endorsement of Trump by Cruz is only helping Hillary. If Cruz cares one bit for this country, he will swallow his pride, and work tirelessly to elect Trump.

Cmon Ted. Say something really big. “I’m on the Trump train and America is going to be Great Again”. Say it, Say it.

Doesn’t matter what he says or does, they hate him.

It actually matters a lot what he has said and has done.

It's why I changed from supporting Cruz to supporting Trump. A lot of us here did that. The question is: Why DIDN'T so many Cruzers do that when he said and did all those horrible things over the last months?

There’s that ‘populist’ word again. It didn’t work the first time it came down from the neo-jerk-cons.

Is that you Levin.....the fake one?

Yes, we differ on that point (and many others, I am sure). I don't think Trump needs Cruz. In life, stress, adversity and even opposition serve to make the victor stronger.

Would Trump benefit from having Cruz's support? Probably. But let Cruz be Cruz. In this case, he's helping the cause. Calling for a temporary ban on immigration from certain countries ... that's a big deal. Did you see it reported?

I don’t hate him. I just wish he’d STFU and go back to Canada. And not come back.

‘Would Trump benefit from having Cruz’s support? Probably.’

He was the GOP primary runner-up and you’re not sure his support would help Trump? Why is that? Do Cruz’ own supporters hold him in such disdain that if he strongly backed Trump, they would refuse to follow suit? They’d stick their collective thumb in Cruz’ eye, instead, and walk away from both Trump AND Cruz?

Once again, Cruz steals Trump’s positions. Trump is meeting with the NRA to come up with a plan to deny 2A rights to “refugees” from terrorist nations until they are properly vetted.

Cruz supported more “refugees.” Now he say this. The dude is problematic. He lies so much that no one can trust a word he says.

No he hasn’t. He supported more “refugees” and no Muslim ban.
