Joe Manchin laments Fifth Amendment: ‘Due process is what’s killing us right now’
The Washington Times ^ | 6/16/2016 | Douglas Ernst

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin told an MSNBC panel on Thursday that the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is "killing us" in terms of preventing gun violence.

Mr. Manchin, a Democrat, referred to due process as an inconvenient "firewall" when it comes to denying Americans firearms.

Money quote: "So can't we say that if a person is under suspicion, there should be a five-year period of time that we have to see if good behavior, if this person continues the same traits?"

Manchin has sat idly by while Obama, Clinton and the rest of the Dems have destroyed the West Virginia coal industry. He should be tarred and feathered and run out of the state.

If we got rid of the 1st Amendment, could we shut him up?

Take a look at our legislature, Buckeye. Go on ... do some research. Compare it to yours.

Take a look at our congressional delegation, Buckeye. Go on ... do some research. Compare it to yours.

We've upped our standards. Up yours.

This from the guy who first ran as a conservative Democrat

And was endorsed, and given an A+ rating ... TWICE ... by the NRA ...

Pissed me off both times.

Another “conservative democrat” shows his true colors. They only use these faux “conservative” democrats as their beards otherwise the democrats would be a minority party. They may be “conservative” when they are campaigning in West Virginia and other conservative states like it but when they go back to Washington Dr. Jeckyl becomes Mr. Hyde.

Spoken like a true totalitarian. Attack all citizens and their Constitutionally protected rights while ignoring the real problem, Islamic terrorism. It reveals the inner workings of a weak, twisted mind. Compare Minchin’s pathetic statement to those of Donald Trump’s.

The Republicans have lusted in their hearts for the kind of dumb passive voters that the Democrats have. The Republican voters have some fight and awareness which is why the Republican leadership is always at war with its base.

I'll take that bet. The same thing was said about Dingy Harry Reid several years back and there he stood, bleating about having the stamp of approval from the NRA, headed right back to the Senate.

The NRA gives great weight to returning "friendly" incumbents to office and can somehow forget the broader freedom fight, especially if the incumbent has been especially good in the most recent sessions, i.e. the last two years before the election.

You mean like Wisconsin and their muzzie loving, democrap boot licking Speaker?

There are so many traitors in both parties, in every state, where do you start?

We'll take care of this sob scumbag at the next dance.

Then don't you think we should be a war with them?

I don't trust the NRA; they've shown time and again that they don't want to give up their you could lose your gun-rights… so send us money! scam.
They're like the Republican party of non-profit organizations: all talk and no action.

(I've personally heard them turn down slam-dunk state-level cases.)

That’s why we need to ensure full investigations and no “closed cases” due to PC constraints on actually vetting the bad guys.

The solution is to not allow muslims to own guns based on Islamic ideology. It’s not just a religion. It’s a religion that is being used against us.

Manchin: "....So can't we say that if a person is under suspicion, there should be a five-year period of time that we have to see if good behavior, if this person continues the same traits? Maybe we can come to that type of an agreement. But due process is what's killing us right now."

I wonder what this sounds like in the original German.

Manchin’s comments would sound better in the original North Korean.

Let me translate Manchins comments to a language he is more familiar with.
