Trump has personality, he has tons, and tons, and tons of people who are very enthused by him, and even the GOPe is after him.
Goldwater was a terrible candidate. Trump is the best we have had in at least twenty years. Maybe more.
Barry Goldwater was a decent, honest Republican candidate.
But he was up against the loathsome Lyndon Baines Johnson who was the incumbent replacement for the slain JFK & his New Frontier.
The LBJ campaign succeeded in making Goldwater look like a nuclear madman, only two years removed from the Cuban Missile Crisis. Little girl and atomic explosion, etc.
