When we went food shopping today, we saw that our local market had a big sale on PORK! I picked out the nicest package of pork sirloin chops in the display case, to use to make Pork and Sauerkraut!!
Who would have thought it possible—A Ramadan Pork Sale in our deep blue state!!!
Of course, it helps that the owner of the market is a Conservative Greek Orthodox Christian!!!!

God bless you in your troubles. There’s an excellent article up today, “Repair with Gold.” I’m a cracked pot too but I no longer worry about it, because I now know what the Lord does with the cracks.
Because this is a place that tends to advocate for conservative things, for some definition of the word conservative, I find myself in the position of the gadfly. If we stopped with what the world called conservative, we would have achieved far less than what the good Lord wanted. Even liberal is sometimes not so much wrong but hideously miscast. The bible always urged the church to be liberal in giving and sharing and loving and forgiving, and yet not to abandon an excellent morality. Our modern condition of getting governments involved with everything down to where you lost your sock is foolishness. Our vision for governments should not be the same as our vision for private life.
