I will vote for Donald Trump for President. Why? My reasons are somewhat different than the usual.
Like many of Trumps supporters I evolved from a very different place. Initially, Trump was not on my list of possible candidates. Only after I had sorted through my doubts about the other candidates did I start to look seriously at Donald Trump.
Of course, Trump has political negatives. I recognize that some people are put off by his bumptious style or, much more often, in response to the many deliberate slanders. These have little impact on my perceptions of the man. Donald Trump has been described as a Blue-Collar Billionaire. Indeed, he is competent operating heavy machinery. It is his blue collar behaviors that most seem to offend the self-appointed literary and political elites. Trumps mannerisms dont bother me at all. Although I now am a member in good standing of the professional intellectual class, I started my career as a blue-collar worker -- a janitor actually, followed by other more demanding blue collar jobs. Thus, from practical experience, I early-on developed respect and appreciation for my fellow blue-collar workers and their ways of thinking and expression.
Trumps negatives are well known. But what about his positives? For half a century I made my living as a physicist and engineer. During that long period I have known a great many program managers, good and bad. It is on that basis that I offer a different perspective about Donald Trump. Fundamentally, Donald Trump is both an engineering program manager and a risk-taking entrepreneur.

A good read
I read this article earlier. It’s an excellent description of TRUMP and should be marketed or articulated broadly for the general election. All the other side has is screaming racism.
TRUMP has a lifelong history of solving large problems. I doubt anyone can name any such achievement of Mrs Clinton.

It’s up to you New York, New York
I will follow a successful man before an unsuccessful one.
That is a decent summation. If you did not know him, he comes across like Joe Lunch Bucket. And that is his Main Street appeal.
One of my favorite Trump videos:

May, 2015—a month before Trump announces his candidacy, Brian Kilmeade takes a lunchtime stroll with Donald Trump in NYC.
The reaction of the folks he comes across is terrific.
Hadn’t seen that one before, thanks for sharing!
Clinton is more adept at creating problems than solving them.
Excellent, thanks for posting.
Trump spent a lot of time on construction sites where men work and act like men..do the job or find something else to do..
Trump relates to these people not the rich..
He goes to the big rich parties and leaves after an hour to go back to work
Does not drink or smoke
Great article, Kaslin. Both my parents were electrical engineers. I’m a software engineer/entrepreneur and an unapologetic capitalist.
I have often heard people malign engineers as “nerdy” (my Dad’s 2nd wife too). But those very people are the ones that have benefited from the innate curiosity and entrepreneurialism of many engineers in history whose work has resulted in huge increases in their quality of life and longevity. Those who criticize engineers should be kissing their feet.
Consider:
-Jet travel thanks to the original Wright Brothers’ flight
-Light bulbs thanks to Thomas Edison
-Medical equipment (MRI, X-ray),etc thanks to many engineers.
-The list can go on and on...
Compare and contrast the HUGE positive impact engineers have had on our lives with the narcissistic Hollywood actors who lavish praise upon themselves at their cozy little “Academy Awards...” Their claim to notoriety is that they are good a pretending they are someone else. That’s all.
We should truly have an Academy Awards ceremony for Engineers & Entrepreneurs.
Anyone notice how Obummer has NEVER paraded a successful engineer/entrepreneur in the limelight to give him/her recognition. Rather, for him it’s all about MEDIOCRITY and celebrating VICTIMS.
For Trump it’s all about a MERITOCRACY. We need to get back to a society where MERIT is rewarded, not being a slob.
