Obamatrade cost GOP congressman his job
World Net Daily ^ | 6/18/2016 | Curtis Ellis

Rep. Randy Forbes, GOP establishment stalwart and longtime Obamatrade supporter from Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, will soon be unemployed. Voters rejected him in favor of his primary opponent Scott Taylor, who stridently opposed Obamatrade.

Taylor blasted Forbes for voting to give President Obama fast track authority to ram through Congress the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a sweeping 12-nation international regulatory pact that would merge our economy with some of the poorest and most repressive on earth.

This move was especially hypocritical for Forbes, chairman of the House Prayer Caucus. Obamatrade would give special economic privileges to countries that persecute Christians, including Vietnam, Malaysia and the Shariah-law regime of Brunei.

After his disastrous vote for fast track, Forbes tried to tap dance around the Constitution-shredding, religious-liberty-trampling Obamatrade agreement.

In a letter to constituents, Forbes recycled the party establishment’s globalist talking points, saying free trade is “crucial to our economy” and to “our future as a country.”

Then Forbes said he would support Obamatrade if it were amended, glossing over the fact that his vote for fast track surrendered Congress’ power to amend the agreement.

While Forbes played cute, former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor issued a clarion call against the misbegotten pact.

I predict many changes like this one. We may stay in the Republican Party because it may eventually get healthy as the RINOs get tossed onto the landfill site.

Obama considers TPP central to his presidential legacy and to his foreign policy and economic legacies.

No 'conservative' in their right mind would ever vote for TPP----which has horrendous consequences for American workers. (the duplicitous Cruz voted for TPA---to fast track TPP for Obama.)

=================================================

TPP is best understood against the backdrop of the "get-rich-quick" mantra;
of Obama's post-presidential get-rich-quick foundation plans ala the Clintons.

NOW ISN'T THIS INTERESTING? few, if any, of the RCEP and
TPP countries contributed to the buck-raking Clinton Foundation.

Looks like the Clintons and Obama divvied up the globe so that each have their own countries in order to collect big buck get-rich-quick foundation donations, honorarium, cosultancies, and int'l insider business deals.

======================================

THE FACTS ARE THESE Obama's trade deal giveaway is a huge scam...best examined against the backdrop of Obama's two tax-exempt foundations (two-that we know of). Obama's priming the pump for donations to his two Foundations.

All of Obama's thinly-veiled actions....

(1) promoting TPA and TPP,

(2) his immigration suck-ups

(3) his non-action WRT ISIS, IRAN....

.....are best understood against the backdrop of Obama's future get-rich-quick plans as an ex-president----more specifically, his two get-rich-quick Foundations (two foundations that we know of).

All these entities control billions of dollars---and Obama is lying-in-wait for his share: foreign donations, lucrative insider trade deals from untapped resources, energy deals, telecom deals, arms sales, consultancies, million dollar honorarium...and so on and so forth.

===================================================

WIKI REFERENCE: Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is a proposed free trade agreement (FTA) between the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) and the six states with which ASEAN has existing FTAs (Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand). RCEP negotiations were formally launched in November 2012.

I've come to the sad conclusion that free traders are like liberal lunatics. They are drunk with their own ideology and just can't help themselves.

There is a big difference between trade with countries like Japan and Canada which share similar standards of living and values and those like China and Vietnam which do not.

No, it didn’t. A liberal judge cost him his job by redrawing his district to elect a Black democrat. He ran for reelection in another district which was mostly new to him, he was not the incumbent to most of his new constituents.

Trade deals are being corrupted for political and profit motives. Trade can be beneficial, but it has to be done right and not for ulterior motives unrelated to economics. The U.S. gives away the farm all the time (not just in the trade arena) and its usually for reasons that are hidden from the American public.

As I drive through my community, I think about what a great town it was when I moved there forty years ago. Free trade and corporate mergers brought it down.

you make a fallacious assumption.

That is that the companies could have thrived and survived.

That competition could be profitably over come is likely not possible in the dynamic changing global economy. Static entities just die
