Hillary Clinton interpreted the Orlando murders as proof of the need to ban the sale of "assault weapons," such as Mateen's Sig Sauer MCX. Her idea is beside the point for a couple of reasons. One is that 73 percent of mass shooters, according to a Congressional Research Service analysis, don't use such guns.
Another is that her ban wouldn't prevent the sale of other semiautomatic guns that are functionally indistinguishable from the weapon the shooter used. Even if "assault weapons" were forbidden, terrorists have plenty of other firearms from which to choose.
Outlawing "assault weapons" would no more stop someone like Mateen than outlawing Ryder trucks would have stopped Timothy McVeigh from bombing the federal building in Oklahoma City.

As we get day by day ever closer to a Trump Presidency just watch these “journalists” incrementally remember how to actually do their job. As Hillary’s probability of winning declines they will not wish to further compromise their future ability to earn by covering for her. Bush did not threaten them. Trump already has.
I would challenge anyone who has ever served in combat to review the videos of this orlando thing. Look at the so called ‘wounded’ being carried, look at their faces and then think of the combat soldiers you have seen being carried before any pain killer was administered.
Do those in orlando look like the faces of gun shot wounded?

This guy may be just trying to protect Hillary from further damage by being forced to repeatedly talk about disarmament but my above suggestion is at least a possibility.
I have never been shot but the many folks I have seen that have been reported it was pretty uncomfortable. The awake ones, anyway.
Politician smoke screen, zippy the a##clown is still moving forward allowing more savages into this country and the GOP would rather fight trump than the enemy within.

I was thinking the same thing and had made a few comments regarding those pictures in another post. Did anyone see any victims actually covered with blood? Suspicious!
If there were zero guns left in the US, they would just start using suicide vests. They want to die anyway. If Mateen had used a suicide vest, he could have taken out the entire club in an instant.
Pretty much sums it up right there.
Hillary must be in a quandary. If the victims would have been white males the solution would have been simple. Just ban all white males BUT since the were gay Latino voters (a double whammy because they’re in two classes that would vote for her), the guns must go.
How will the government keep guns off the street, when it has failed so miserably with drugs in spite of billions spent every year?

The hard solutions or the unpopular solutions are never touched on by politicians. The gun violence in Chicago, for example, is driven by, among other factors, welfare paying women to have fatherless children, the break up of the family structure, the collapse of the church, decades of Democratic identity politics, constant calls of racism by the media and blacks who make their living off “racism” exploitation. Then there is the drug culture and probably, to some degree, the laws punishing it. In other words, these and other factors, like minimum wage laws, have combined to create a caustic, corrupt culture. But many politicians, having learned to exploit what they found, want it to stay exactly the same. And NOBODY will suggest a plan to identify and change any of those factors. So, we get kneejerk gun legislation and harsher penalties and, occasionally, idiocy like midnight basketball.
The same is true of the Orlando killings. Politicians jump in to grab some free publicity and propose idiot laws in the pretense they are doing something to prevent the same thing from occurring again.
They were all inside dead. 49 of them. What’s your point? The people with flesh wounds, many of them, lay on the floor playing dead. How is it that not one person rashed the guy?

The point is the supposed “wounded”, and there were MANY, who were OUTSIDE of the building being treated and cared for, showed NO SIGNS of actually having been wounded. Actual wounded people (combat type) bleed. I’m not suggesting the “victims” were NOT wounded, I would prefer to have seen actual proof that they were. Obviously you have NOT been in combat.

They were wounded. Some through and through to extremities, some from over penetration , some by ricochets, some with lacerations from glass, some with bruising from falling.
Don’t minimize this. I’ve seen GSWs for 25 years. Some of them bleed a lot and some of them are odd and the patient doesn’t even know he’s been shot in an area because of distracting injuries and until she/he’s undressed and rolled over and looked over.
9mm and .223 make different wounds due to velocity, distance and what the patient was wearing.
