This is a dangerous and revealing mis-statement. Their job is to FOLLOW AND ENFORCE THE LAW, period.

Of course it is in the ultimate "interest" (properly understood) of the American people that the laws be enforced, but when liberals talk about "interest of the American people" instead of the LAW they are busy substituting their "creative" interpretations of what our elites think is better for us. Such "interest" is liberal code for "WE know what is best for you peasants."

It will be easy for Lynch and here colleagues to decide that their view of "the interest of the American people" requires that Shrillary not be indicted, no matter what the evidence and law may say.

You are correct and that is the precise summation. This is the standard in this administration’s communication; which is to establish the “steps removed from black-letter meaning” they arrogate to themselves. It is always thus, just as you say: They are entitled, from their self-proclaimed pedestal of superior knowledge and morality, to determine just what is in the best interest(s) of the American people. But this was not their oath of office. It is the same damned thing as the global warmists, the racists, all of them. They are superior, you are not. They get to interpret, you are a neanderthal. In the process, you become deprived of the clear meaning of the founding documents. All of them. You are deprived of the precise and plain meaning of the law as an ordinary person might read it and instead, you are subject to an ever-shifting and undefined blanket of diktats and agency-issued regulations only insiders can follow. But insiders do not get their farms seized or businesses shut down because they do not have farms nor businesses. Indeed, they have nothing at all at stake.
