Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is leaving the campaign, just weeks before the Republican convention where Trump is set to claim the GOP presidential nomination.

A Trump senior campaign aide confirmed to Fox News Monday morning that Lewandowski is no longer with the campaign.

It's unclear what specifically led to the shake-up. The high-profile departure of one of Trump's most senior and loyal advisers follows what was widely seen as a rough patch for the campaign.

Brit-boy Fume Hume having an orgasm over this.

Actually, this was highly predictable. You can only have one manager, and Manafort has been it for a couple of months. My guess is that Lewandowski just wasn’t happy taking orders from Manafort.

Bad news for Hillary. Manafort will now be in charge of the campaign.

CL has been a ball and chain for many months. This move comes way too late. Though many here at FR will find some sort of “genius” in this move. [sigh]

So Manfort the experienced hand is responsible for the last two months? Maybe Trump parted ways with the wrong guy.

I don’t see this as Lewandowski getting fired. This is Lewandowski having done what was in the area of his expertise and having completed that, it’s now time to move on.

“Manafort will now be in charge of the campaign.”

Manafort has been for months now anyway.

Worth repeating since it is 110% accurate. You typed almost the exact words I planned to post.

No, the past two months is what happens when you have two chefs in the kitchen.

The fools in the media will be making a huge deal out of this. It’s likely due to Lewandowski not being up to handling the campaign at this stage of the game. Manafort is the pro and Trump has had time see if they can work together. I’ll be curious to see if Lewandowski still has a role.

reading the gossip it sounds like lewandowski was just not going to accept being part of manaforts team and tone down his “in yo face” style toward the press corps ( even though they deserve it).....he got trump to the end stages of the primaries and that was good. I hope they operated on good terms

This is a big bunch of nothin’.

Lewandowski got the Trump campaign underway, was an integral part of the primary process, and Trump stood by him when he was unjustly maligned and lied about by that bimbo Michelle Fields. If Trump had any doubts about Lewandoski at all, that would have been the time he would have dumped him.

Manafort is a veteran, he was at the center of the Reagan campaign along with William Casey and Ed Rollins. He knows how to win, and that is exactly what he’s going to do.

Thank you Corey, good luck and God bless.

Yeah, I see this as the end result of the blame game over the past two months. When the media stopped treating Trump as something to watch, an interesting side to what has been anything but normal election ebbs and flows to actually turning on him. His polling isn't that good lately, and Trump is a guy who lives and dies by polling and other META data. He really is behind when it comes to national campaign organizing, and he better get moving. Clinton's team are life long politicians, and knows all about getting their people out and how to raise money. My fear has always been trump going up against seasoned professionals such as the Clintons.

Manafort was in charge of organizing the convention. Lewandowski was the campaign manager.

Manafort was hired when Cruz was going around stealing delegates. In his first interview he said that Cruz was about to hit a “rough patch”. Two weeks later Cruz suspended his campaign.

’ My fear has always been trump going up against seasoned professionals such as the Clintons. ‘

So...Jeb and Rubio and Cruz and Christie and Kasich weren’t seasoned professionals?
