Paul Ryan's Treason
Frontpagemag.com ^ | June 21, 2016 | Daniel Greenfield

Posted on 06/21/2016 3:52:41 AM PDT by Biggirl

In an awkward interview with the Huffington Post, House Speaker Paul Ryan threatened to sue Donald Trump if he were to ban Muslim immigration or build a border wall with Mexico. Considering the current track record of suing Obama over abuses of power, this is little more than a confession of impotence. And yet it’s deeply troubling that a top Republican is willing to go to such lengths to fight for Muslim migration or for that matter illegal immigration in general.

I don’t know if Trump has done HuffPo or Salon but he’s given time to basically anyone with a microphone. The problem isn’t the venue - it’s the content of the message.

And the quantity of the interviews. Ryan has been giving near daily media availabilities specifically to frag Trump. He gone so far as to tape weekend interviews multiple times to keep his Trump smears in the news cycle non stop.

Cruz tied Trump’s position on NATO to the attack. He used weaseley lawyer words so he could later say he didn’t mean what he said - but the implication was very clear. That’s why so many news outlets ran with the headline that Cruz blames Trump for the attack.

Tying Trump’s position to quit supporting NATO, which Cruz said would weaken it, to the attack - was illogical. He was losing it as bad as Beck at that point.

I read his statement. He didn’t blame Trump for the attack, which would have been silly. He criticized him for making statements that we were spending too much on NATO, and that weakening that alliance sends an 0bama-like message in these times when the West is facing terror attacks.

The point is Cruz used the occasion of something terrible happening as a platform to attack Trump. He did the same on Chicago. Way out of bounds.

Cruz is a false flag candidate, lots of this conservative media is. Keep us busy keep us thinking what we believe matters - go to work pay taxes - meanwhile progressive victory after progressive victory.

Yep. The idea that a bought and paid for career politician financed by likes of Goldman Sachs is going to reform the GOP or Fed Gov is silly. Ted Cruz IS the GOP. His role is to keep conservatives on the GOP plantation while the big donors get serviced. It’s that simple.

Ryan being interviewed by HuffPo is the point. Nobody held a gun to Ryan’s back and ordered him to seek out the furthest left, most rabidly conservative-hating publication he could find. He voluntarily aided and abetted one of the foremost enemies of conservatism. As Greenfield rightfully says, Ryan is a traitor.

I agree Ryan should have told HuffPost to pound sand....

I don't see where Ryan seeked them out for the interview...

I assume they asked him, the problem Ryan faced is have HuffPost do a hit piece on him, by declining or do the interview...

Being a gutless spineless worm, he choose poorly...

Didn’t he say he’d step down if asked?

WHO owns Paul Ryan?

Let’s name names!

Paul Ryan and the GOP leadership is NOT on our side! NEVER was! NEVER will be! Trump threatens their entire power/profit structure and they will stop him at any cost.

Paul Ryan was brought into DC politics to push amnesty, free trade...by CESAR CONDA. He is OWNED. (Conda is powerful and is Rubio’s chief of staff and an immigration lawyer who destroyed prop 187 in Calif along with Grover Norquist.)

Who runs the GOP and owns Paul Ryan & Marco Rubio? Let’s name names!

[snip]
Cesar Conda and his biggest ally, Grover Norquist have an agenda. It is to control the Republican party and the candidates who run in these elections who will implement the policies they want in place to profit their various NON profit scams. They are not conservative or moderate or any other label you can hang on them. They are NOTHING but amoral profiteers having found a gullible constituency in a nation of people easily fooled.

The agenda? Every lopsided, cheap labor ‘trade’ agreement that comes down the pike…Nafta, Gatt, Most favored nation status for China, TPP and on and on. They are actually treaties, but this little group has a congress willing to abdicate it’s power to call them ‘free trade agreements’.

AND

Uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration from South of the border and terrorist Muslim nations. Grover Norquist, married to a Pakistani Muslim who was active in the Bush Administration is the man who LED the push for the Mosque at Ground Zero. Donald Trump is the man who fought it! As Karl Rove, another part of this little K St. GOP power cabal, is proud to say, Norquist ‘brought home the Muslim vote for Bush’. They stocked the various agencies with their people!

They’ve become used to power, and they’re NOT going to give it up easily to the ONE MAN, DONALD TRUMP, who seeks to expose and end this corruption.

These people don’t ‘lobby’ our leaders…they OWN them. They write the legislation! Grover Norquist WROTE George Bush’s amnesty! Conda/Norquist WROTE the gang of 8 amnesty that THEIR little whore Marco Rubio pushed!

They also RUN all your favorite ‘conservative’ institutions who are in your mailbox EVERY day conning you out of money to fund our destruction. And we smile, hope and write the check to:
Americans for Tax Reform, CPAC, The American Conservative Union, Freedomworks, Tea Party Express, Tea Party Patriots, Heritage, CLUB FOR GROWTH, the NRSC, NRCC and SO many more!

Every candidate PROMISED to support the GOP nominee and DEMANDED that Donald Trump SIGN and agree to do the same. Many are breaking that pledge.
Trump has kept his word.

EVERY candidate, save ONE, also PLEDGED their allegiance to Grover Norquist when they signed his infamous ‘pledge’. He OWNS your GOP congress. He OWNS over 1300 STATE legislators! IF you don’t do what the Grover Club tells you to, you will never win another election. They have taken out many good candidates.

Donald Trump is the ONLY presidential GOP candidate who has not signed that UNAMERICAN oath and onto Grover/Conda’s agenda.
NONE of this is a secret! SO many of us have tried for years to expose this stinking mess!
To be sure, Norquist, Conda, Rove are not the only ones. But they are generals in their sovereignty destroying army. They involve lobbyist run Tea Parties to confuse the grass roots, Ralph Reed and his Christian Coalition to confuse the faithful, Steven Moore who is head economist of Heritage and mouthpieces like Hugh Hewitt and likely Levin, Limbaugh, Beck and others to fool the talk radio audience. “If Trump is elected he should do to Ryan what Lincoln did to Rep. Vallandigham.”

And with a Barney Fife ending!

Vallandigham died in 1871 in Lebanon, Ohio, at the age of 57, after accidentally shooting himself in the abdomen with a pistol. He was representing a defendant (Thomas McGehan)[citation needed] in a murder case for killing a man in a barroom brawl at the Golden Lamb Inn. Vallandigham attempted to prove the victim, Tom Myers, had in fact accidentally shot himself while drawing his pistol from a pocket while rising from a kneeling position. As Vallandigham conferred with fellow defense attorneys in his hotel room at the Golden Lamb, he showed them how he would demonstrate this to the jury. Selecting a pistol he believed to be unloaded, he put it in his pocket and enacted the events as they might have happened, snagging the loaded gun on his clothing and unintentionally causing it to discharge into his belly. Although he was fatally wounded, Vallandigham’s demonstration proved his point, and the defendant, Thomas McGehan, was acquitted and released from custody (to be shot to death four years later in his saloon). Surgeons probed for the pistol ball, thought to have lodged in the vicinity of his bladder, but were unable to locate it, and Vallandigham died the next day of peritonitis.

“If Ryan had gone to the enemy camp and told them what a stellar candidate we have, he wouldn’t be accused of treason. It’s going to the enemy for the purpose of undercutting our candidate that earns Ryan his traitorous status”

Just what I said above: It’s not the venue. It’s the content of the message. If he were going to Salon to defend/endorse Trump, we’d be fine with it. I’d applaud it, actually.

Our entire government is in the pocket of Islam - they’ve been paid handsomely to commit treason against our people. These are the same people that won’t allow even an expression of Christianity in the public square.

I’m curious how one comes to the conclusion that Cruz is a globalist, let alone, anti-American.

What facts do you have to back this up? And please, spare me the Heidi worked at Goldman Sachs excuse...that’s been fully debunked.

Why is Cruz even being discussed in this thread?

This article is about Paul Ryan, saying something about the presumptive nominee, Trump. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with Cruz. I don’t see the connection.

That said, I found another article that explained Ryan’s comments, and I don’t see what’s so nefarious about them:

Paul Ryan considers Donald Trump’s proposal to indefinitely ban Muslim immigration into the US to be executive overreach.

And during an interview with The Huffington Post, uploaded on Friday, the House speaker said he’d “sue any president that exceeds his or her powers.”

Ryan, who said Trump supported the separation of powers when the speaker endorsed the presumptive Republican nominee, released part of his agenda regarding executive overreach this week.

However, Ryan is not totally sure if Trump enacting a ban on Muslims entering the country would be outside of presidential authority.

“That’s a legal question that there’s a good debate about,” Ryan said, pointing to the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act. That act was meant to exclude immigrants from certain countries from coming to the US in the aftermath of World War II.

Why do you keep talking about Cruz? He suspended his campaign. He’s a non-issue. What is the point of continuing to lambast him on false premises?

Heidi not only works for GS she is a senior executive at GS. She also help author the CFR plan to integrate the USA into the so called North American Union. All of the info about her and the CFR for a NAU is well documented. Shouldn't take you to long to reseach it.

Ted Cruz cheer leaded for Obama Trade. Anyone willing to give away American sovereignty in exchange for job killing unfair trade deals is a globalist at heart. Cruz was in favor of legalizing those in the USA illegally that is until Trump came in favor of sending them back. Cruz also voted to reauthorize the unconstitutional Patriot Act and he voted to the horrid Corker Amendment. Cruz is not a NBC under original intent. Not even close, taking all of the above into consideration one can only conclude that Cruz is an anti-American globalist pig.

You don't do much research do you?

As it turns out, Cruz’ wife Heidi is an international investment banker who was invited to be part of a working group at the Council on Foreign Relations which reviewed a notorious 2005 paper called “Building a North American Community” which was largely authored by Robert Pastor and is the presumed origin of the idea of the North American Union, though Pastor has repeatedly denied that it contains anything like that.

Although the proposals in the paper are a mild call for general hemispheric economic cooperation with no formal structure, the conspiracy-inclined have interpreted it as a sinister conspiracy to destroy American sovereignty and combine us into a single union with Canada and Mexico. They are inherently suspicious of the Council on Foreign Relations, despite its repeated claims to be politically neutral and solely interested in studying issues objectively. It has become a lynchpin in globalist conspiracy theories and anything associated with it immediately looks more sinister in some eyes.

The paper is basically benign, pointing to ways that the nations of North America could work together through free markets and reducing trade barriers to spread more success and raise up the economies of the poorer countries. In its concluding section it says:

“North America is different from other regions of the world and must find its own cooperative route forward. A new North American community should rely more on the market and less on bureaucracy, more on pragmatic solutions to shared problems than on grand schemes of confederation or union, such as those in Europe. We must maintain respect for each other’s national sovereignty.”

Which certainly doesn’t sound all that terrible, what with acknowledging how different North America is from Europe, promoting market solutions instead of government and explicitly rejecting the idea of a “confederation or union” while promoting respect for national sovereignty. It’s almost like the conspiracy theorists never read the document, or gave up after the title and wrote a fantasy version in their heads based solely on the title and their obsession with the CFR.

Admittedly, there are plenty of bad ideas in the report. It’s full of proposals for government managed trade and incentive programs and inter-governmental cooperation for regulation and security. It’s all stuff which makes sense if you think government is the way to solve problems, but not something which would resonate with true conservatives. Yet the big irony here is that it appears that Heidi Cruz doesn’t even agree with those aspects of the report for which she is being blamed.

Heidi Cruz’ role in all of this was as one of a large panel of readers and her sole identifiable contribution to the project is a one-paragraph response in the final appendix in which she says:

“We must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. There is no force proven like the market for aligning incentives, sourcing capital, and producing results like financial markets and profit-making businesses. This is simply necessary to sustain a higher living standard for the poorest among us — truly the measure of our success. As such, investment fundsand financing mechanisms should be deemed attractive instruments by those committing the capital and should only be developed in conjunction with market participants.”

So basically, her role here is to say that free markets and free trade are the answer to greater regional prosperity. I find it hard to believe that any conservative or republican would disagree with this or condemn her for believing it, and it’s positively bizarre to see someone who is as much of a globalist insider as Dewhurst raising this sort of argument.

The whole idea that Heidi Cruz is part of some grand conspiracy is patently ridiculous. It’s guilt by association and by innuendo from people who don’t understand the CFR or the report which they so revile and who assume that anyone who may have been in a room with Robert Pastor or William Weld must be some sort of globalist stooge. The reality is that the CFR draws on a diverse pool of experts, most of whom have very little involvement in the organization and that its output, like this paper, tends to be in the form of general suggestions with no force behind them which no one ever really acts on. We certainly aren’t plunging headlong into any kind of regional union on the basis of one paper which no one seems to have read.
