The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a Second Amendment challenge to a Connecticut law banning many semiautomatic rifles.
The law, enacted in 2013 following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., made it a crime to sell or possess the firearms, which critics call assault weapons.
The decision not to hear the case, not long after the mass shooting in Orlando, Fla., does not set a Supreme Court precedent. But it is part of a trend in which the justices have given at least tacit approval to broad gun-control laws in states and localities that choose to enact them.

In a separate development Monday, a lawyer for families of some victims of the Sandy Hook massacre told a judge that the Remington Arms company should be held accountable for selling the public semiautomatic rifles, including one that was used in that attack.
The argument came during a court hearing on Remington Arms’ request to dismiss a lawsuit by relatives of nine children and adults killed at the school on Dec. 14, 2012, and a teacher who survived the shooting. Judge Barbara Bellis, who rebuffed a similar request by Remington and other defendants in April, did not rule Monday.

Or Roberts would have betrayed us and the constitution once again. Given the current make up of the Court I think we came out ahead by them denying cert on this one.
The Court declined to hear the case. That's all. It's not an endorsement of the lower court decision. It's simply a refusal to consider the merits of the appeal, for whatever reason.
Kick it down the road. Let some other guy take the heat.
Right now they’d split 4-4 (or worse....never can tell what that squirrel Kennedy will decide to do).
