Three people were arrested when police discovered a weapons cache and ballistic vests in a vehicle on the New Jersey side of the Holland Tunnel on Tuesday, officials told NBC4.
Authorities arrested two men in their 50s and a woman in her 30s after finding multiple loaded long-range weapons, handguns, ballistic vests and a camouflage helmet in the vehicle.
The trio, who may be from Pennsylvania, was initially stopped for a cracked windshield. A search of the vehicle turned up the weapons.
The Joint Terrorism Task Force is assisting the investigation, a source told NBC4.
Reporting not terror related:

Cache of weapons found in van near Holland Tunnel; Not terror-related
Numerous guns were recovered inside a van that was stopped at the Holland Tunnel Tuesday morning.
Police say two suspects were taken into the custody following the stop in Jersey City at 8 a.m.
Authorities believe the suspects were in possession of the guns as part of criminal activity, possibly drug related.
The arrests do not have a connection to any terrorism.
The tunnel is one of the most inspected choke points right behind the mid-town subway platforms. They sure were running the gauntlet.
Geniuses. I don't carry a bunch of weapons in my car (usually ;-), but very often do a walk-around to ensure that there are no little things that will give "the man" an excuse to hassle me.
It appears from the print that the folks were not , at least when they were arrested, intent on blowing up the tunnel but rather were attempting to transit the tunnel for some work elsewhere.
Around here, most folks leery of the Law don’t drive around in vehicles with obvious attractions to police, like cracked windshields.
Or simply hold thousands hostage etc.
[...and a camouflage helmet in the vehicle.]
That’s it... we need to ban camoflage!!!!
More likely they were under suspicion before this.
Those damn Amish terrorists again!
An ABC source says there appears to be no ties to terrorism, just a lil’ ole’ heroin exchange. Can’t make this up.
